Join us at Howlands next week (31st July) to find out how to crowdfund for your organisation at Dewsbury Soup
Our People Helping People Network meetings are run by Third Sector Leaders Kirklees in partnership with Kirklees Council. They are designed to give information and support to community groups, voluntary groups, charities and social enterprises.
Both meetings will include:
information about how to apply for funding like Do Something Now, and National Lottery,
details of help with recruiting volunteers and promoting opportunities,
information about free training and support from Third Sector Leaders
and time for networking
The Cleckheaton event is also combined with a celebration of local project funding awarded by ward councillors from their ward budget, and will include details of how to apply for this funding. A light buffet and refreshments will be provided.
The Dewsbury event will feature Dewsbury Soup and details of how to apply for and pitch at their community crowdfunding events.
The Next Round of People Helping People Networks is Kicking off in Marsden on July 18th
People Helping People Network meetings are run by Third Sector Leaders Kirklees in partnership with Kirklees Council. They are designed to give information and support to community groups, voluntary groups, charities and social enterprises, and are often combined with another local event such as a Ward Forum, community celebration or workshop. We run them a couple of times a year in each of the 4 areas of Kirklees and try to hold each one in a different community.
Marsden Mechanics, July 18th, 6pm to 9pm
The next round of network meetings will be kicking off in Marsden on July 18th and will be hosted by the ward councillors, Rob Walker, Nell Griffiths and Lesley Warner as part of their Ward Forum. As well as featuring vital community updates on things like neighbourhood policing, household waste and recycling, and Locala baby weigh-in clinics, it will focus on helping you get more funding, find more volunteers, and upskill your team. And there’ll be time for sharing, networking and making connections.
After Marsden, PHP will be heading for North Kirklees and will be joining the celebration event for community groups who’ve been funded by the Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike Ward budgets at Cleckheaton Town Hall on 24th July. This meeting will focus on how to develop ideas, take the next steps and get more funding.
And then we’ll be visiting Dewsbury to look at crowdfunding with Dewsbury Soup and recruiting more volunteers with Volunteering Kirklees.
